What is the Difference between Recruitment Agencies and Employment Agencies?

Job seekers looking for retail work have either recruiting agencies or employment agencies to help them with their job search.

The two terms are usually confusing and most job seekers do not know the difference between the two. It is important to note the difference so that you don’t get the wrong working conditions than the one you thought of while applying for a job.

In getting the differences, we will highlight some of the most important aspects that differentiate the two.

  • Who you will work for

One of the differentiating factors that separate recruitment agencies from employment agencies is who the employee will be working for. Actually, the main difference between the two lies in who will end up being your employer.

If you get a job through a recruitment agency, like YFXjobs, you will become a direct employee of the employer. The employer in this context means the company that the recruiting agency is working on behalf. This means that you will lose contact with the recruiting agency and concentrate on your contract with the employer.

On the other hand, if you get a job through an employment agency, or a manpower agency, you will become an employee of that employment agency. This means that you become a direct employee of the employment agency and an indirect employee of the company. In employment agencies, there is a three-way relationship that is created between you, the employment agency and the company.

Unlike manpower agencies, good and reputable recruitment agencies such as YFXjobs only work to secure you the best job allowing you to develop your career with the employer.

To that point, you have clearly understood the main difference between a recruiting agency and an employment agency. There are still other differences that will be seen while working.

  • Salary Payment

Another difference comes into play during the payment of the salary.

When you get a job using a recruitment agency, you will get your salary directly from the employer. Since you have direct contact with your employer, your salary will be processed from the company’s account department.

Getting a job through an employment agency means that you will get your salary from the employment agency which hired you. This is because your financial obligation is with the employment agency and not the company that you are working for.

  • How do they get their money

Recruiting agencies are paid by the employer (the company seeking employees) for every employee they get. There is a commission paid to the recruitment agency per employee. That commission marks the end of payment.

On the other hand, employment agencies are paid periodically as per the terms of employment. They deduct their money from your salary during the salary installment payment. This is why they act as your employer.

Which is the best?

All you have to do is to look at the above differentiating factors and know which will work best for you. When looking for a job, you need to be careful not to go to an employment agency if you wanted a recruitment agency or vice-versa.

From above, it is clear that recruitment agencies are somehow better than employment agencies since employees get direct contact with the employer. This means that the salary from a job gotten through a recruitment agency is likely to be higher than that from an employment agency if they are of the same job level.

As a recruitment agency, we at YFXjobs, are committed to placing you at the best company with the best working conditions. As seen from the differences above, YFXjobs- as a recruitment agency- will not deduct any money from your salary. Our work is to get you a job and see you progress in your career.
